The German potato trade gathers in Hamburg on the evening of 29 September for the seventy-third International Potato Autumn Exchange, organised by the German Potato Trade Association. The meeting takes place at Hotel Hafen Hamburg, with doors opening at half past four and the programme starting at five. Hamburg's economy senator Melanie Leonhard will speak, followed by market analyst Christoph Hambloch of AMI, who will review current developments and give an outlook for the coming months, and association president Thomas Herkenrath. Harvest data comes first
The timing is deliberate. The Federal Ministry of Agriculture (BMLEH) planned to publish preliminary 2026 harvest results on 23 September, based on its special harvest and quality surveys. Traders will therefore arrive in Hamburg with official figures on volume and quality.

The exchange brings together trade, packing, breeding, processing and technology companies. Registration is open online at herbstboerse.dkhv.org. The fee is €149 for DKHV members and €185 for non-members, including VAT.
